The Tom Maynard Dinner
The Kia Oval on Thursday 8th May 2014
The Tom Maynard Dinner is now in its second year, after raising over £50,000 in 2013. This event was established in honour of the late Tom Maynard who tragically passed away in June 2012.
The Tom Maynard Scholarship will offer one rising young sports star the opportunity to attend Millfield School for two years of sixth form. This important scholarship is about offering an opportunity to someone, who may not have had access to specialist coaching before, to have their talent nurtured at one of the most elite sporting schools in the world.
The Tom Maynard Dinner 2014 will be an evening full of sporting legends from the cricket, rugby and Olympic world and will offer everyone the opportunity to brush shoulders with some of their favourite sporting stars. We look forward to welcoming our guests at the famous Kia Oval, home of the Ashes, for a champagne and cocktail reception party from 6pm, followed by dinner and the evening’s entertainment, hosted by BBC sporting legend John Inverdale.
We would like to invite you to join us at this sparkling event on the 8th May 2014, for an opportunity to remember and celebrate Tom’s life and to continue a legacy he would be proud of. Through ticket sales and the impressive auction catalogue, we will raise vital funds to open the door for another deserving young and talented pupil, to help them fulfil their potential and pursue their dream of a career in sport.
The evening has limited availability with only 42 tables, all of which were filled last year. If you are interested in attending, please phone/email us as soon as possible, or you can register directly through the website using the form to the right.
Alternatively, if you are interested in finding out how to be an official sponsor of the Tom Maynard Dinner, please see the Sponsorship section of the website for more information and contact Darren Clayton to make an enquiry.

Gareth Edwards, former Welsh rugby player who also attended Millfield, said on the night: “I’ve said it many times – I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Millfield. It gave me a stage to perform on and I was made to feel very welcome. it gives you an opportunity to compete. When I look back at Millfield, I realise those were the best days of my life and I am eternally grateful for them.”
